Everything is free, for everyone.
WhereWise is new. Nothing below is charged for yet, including automatic detection — every account has the lot while the product settles. The tiers are here so you know what is coming rather than finding out later.
14 places are left for new accounts. Take one and everything here is yours for nothing while it lasts.
There is one plan and a trial of it, rather than a free version alongside a real one. An attendance tracker missing the thing that records attendance is not a smaller product, it is a broken one — so nothing here is a cut-down edition. What is free, permanently, is leaving: your whole record exports in a format you can read, and you can delete the account yourself.
Try it
The whole product, not a cut-down version of it — because the thing worth judging is whether it saves you the counting, and a crippled one cannot answer that.
- Automatic arrival detection, running in the background
- Your policy in whatever shape it is actually written
- Planning, the forecast, and the whole history
- The widget, the notices and the summaries
- No card up front
WhereWise
Included for nowOne plan with everything in it. Yearly costs less than monthly, and that is the only difference between them.
- Everything above, permanently
- Your record kept off the phone, so a lost device is not a lost year
- A statement you can hand to someone, whenever you want one
- Connect an AI assistant to your own data
- Export everything, any time, and delete the account yourself
How this compares
There are other apps for this, and some of them are good. What there isn’t is one that does the whole job: the geofencing is in one app, the holiday accounting in another, the export in a third, and nearly all of it stops at a calendar you tap. The category is unfinished rather than crowded, which is the honest reason to build another one.
Notices you arrived, without you opening anything

Some apps do this well.
PTO, working from home and holidays in the same record
Elsewhere
Some apps do this well — mostly not the same ones.
Your actual policy: days or hours, a percentage, quarters starting in the month your employer uses, rolling windows, and which days should never have been expected of you
Elsewhere
Mostly a fixed quarterly calculator that cannot be told otherwise.
A statement you could hand to someone — the policy, the arithmetic, every day with where it came from, and a plain-English conclusion, as PDF, Excel or CSV
Elsewhere
The most-asked-for thing in the category's reviews, still mostly unanswered.
Reachable from a computer, not only the phone in your pocket
Elsewhere
Nothing in the category. All of it is iOS-only.
Survives a lost phone

No. On-device-only means the record goes with the device.
A few straight answers
- What happens to my data if I stop paying?
- It comes back down to your phone, and you keep it. Nothing is deleted for lapsing, and there is no hostage-taking of your own history.
- Can my employer see any of this?
- No, on any tier. There is no employer dashboard, no manager view and no way for an organisation to be given access to your account. That is a design decision rather than a setting, so there is nothing to switch on later.
- Is my location stored?
- No trail of it, ever. Your phone's position is compared to the office areas you placed yourself and thrown away in the same request — an arrival time is written down, the coordinates are not. See the privacy policy.
- How long is the trial?
- There is no timer on it. It runs for as long as WhereWise is free, which is at least another month and probably longer, and it ends when paid plans begin rather than on a date you are counting down to. When that happens you are asked once, and nothing is deleted while you decide. The trial runs the whole product on purpose — a free version with the automatic part taken out would tell you nothing about the only question worth answering, which is whether you stop having to keep count.
- Is there a free version?
- No, and there is not going to be one. There are free apps in this corner of the App Store and some of them are decent — if what you need is a calendar you tap, one of those may genuinely be the better answer. This one is built for the case where remembering has started to cost more than a subscription would.
